Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using IO, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These terms are between you and KHHM LLC, a California limited liability company, and incorporate the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

2. Use of the Service

IO is licensed, not sold. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use IO for personal, non-commercial reading. You may not reverse engineer, tamper with, bypass access controls or subscription entitlements, redistribute, or use the app in any way that violates applicable law or these terms.

3. Accounts

Some features require an account created via Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for activity under your account. You may delete your account and its associated data at any time from Account, then Delete Account, in the app.

4. IO+ Subscription

IO+ is an auto-renewable subscription that unlocks premium features such as cross-device sync and expanded AI features. The following terms apply:

• The subscription title, duration, and price are shown in the app before purchase.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription automatically renews at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your Apple Account settings after purchase.
• Any unused portion of a free trial, if offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

5. User Content

You may import personal content (for example, DRM-free EPUBs) that you own or have the right to use. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any content you import. KHHM LLC does not claim ownership of your imported content.

6. Public Domain Library

The built-in library contains public domain and openly-licensed works provided as-is from sources including Project Gutenberg and Standard Ebooks, subject to the terms and trademarks of their respective sources. KHHM LLC makes no warranties about the accuracy or completeness of these texts.

7. AI Features

IO includes AI-generated reading assistance and text-to-speech. AI-generated responses are provided for informational and educational purposes and may contain errors. Do not rely on AI responses for legal, medical, or financial decisions. KHHM LLC is not responsible for the accuracy of AI-generated content.

8. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Limitation of Liability

KHHM LLC's liability to you for any claims arising from your use of IO is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months prior to the claim. KHHM LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of San Diego County, California, except where applicable consumer-protection law provides otherwise.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of IO after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
